Social Affairs

The Social Affairs department, currently staffed with four employees, handles all social matters of the student body at FH Aachen. Whether it's study financing, housing, sustainability, or studying under special circumstances, the field of work is broad and regularly adapts to current conditions. During weekly consultation hours, counseling is available for BAföG and study financing, with specially trained staff for questions regarding finances, housing benefits, and living in Aachen. Additionally, we are happy to advise you on other matters such as studying with children, studying with disabilities, or for international students. The Social Affairs department closely collaborates with the Family Office of the university, the representation of students with disabilities or chronic illnesses, the psychosocial counseling center, and the International Office. All inquiries are treated with strict confidentiality. Since 2020, the department has been advocating for increased consideration and integration of sustainability aspects throughout the university.
